Deaf culture & Sign language

'Life on mute'
On the 22nd of May the StuCee hosts a very special evening with our speaker named Jelle Kamstra.

Jelle has been deaf his whole life. He used to be ashamed off his disability, but nowadays he is very proud of the deaf culture that he is a part of. You are welcome at 19:00 in the ‘clubhuis voor doven’ located at the Munnekeholm, which is right in the city centre. During this evening deaf culture will be discussed and we will even get the chance to learn some sign language ourselves! Because it is very difficult to find interpreters who translate from Dutch sign language to English, the lecture will be held in Dutch. If you are interested in hearing more about the daily life of a deaf person and the challenges in communication they have to face.. Please sign up!
